Sign up now for the June 6th project.

Project Details:Ken Stowell has our group scheduled to work in Hodgen Meadows campsite repairing a wheelchair ramp. It should be a very simple and quick project, plus you'll be that much closer to Toulumne Meadows to climb.

Our group will be camping in Yellow Pines.

How this Works:
A few days prior to the weekend, I will send you a gate pass for free admission to the park, along with information on the location of our campsite. We will start work at 9 a.m. Saturday and finish near 3 p.m. The work will be such that you can work at your own pace, and the NPS will provide all required tools.

You're free to do as you like after we complete the project. Some people will go climbing while others may go for a hike.

Please be awake by 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and ready to leave no later than 8:30. It does take a while to eat, clean up and get ready to work.

Previous Projects:
Previous projects can be viewed in the Gallery.

Work Gear:
Please bring proper shoes to work in (NO TEVAS OR SANDALS). Tennis shoes are OK, hiking boots are better. The park service should have plenty of gloves too, but if you have your own, bring them. Also, be prepared to bring a lunch and some water. We usually take a break around noon and eat.

Weather:
The weather in Yosemite can change within a few hours. Please be prepared for it.

Camping:
This information will be provided to you with the Yosemite Gate Pass when you sign up. The Yellow Pines campground has two 'comfort' stations and water is provided. All food MUST be kept in the bear-proof boxes located in each campsite. Updates: Check this page or the web site at http://www.pgvip.net for some updates and other details.

Still in Alaska

Hoi,
This trip has been amazing so far. I am climbing a lot (Jtree-Red Rocks-Owens Valley-Smith Rocks-Petersburg-Juneau-Anchorage), but still don't clean 5.12 :-( But I am leading 5.9 now, so getting there. Now I am just back from a 5 day sea kayak trip on Prince William Sound with some hard core Italian mountaineers (mnt Everest hard core that is). It was beautiful, but I had to work hard. 120 km in 5 days is kind of far. Gonna take some time here in Anchorage to rest. I am staying with some guys who were in my group last year at the Yosemite yearly cleanup. They recognized me when I pulled over to check out there climbing. We became friends forever and I feel totally home here. Alaska is treating me very well. Keep Yosemite going and loves.

Dag,
Iris

Need ride from Oakland - Lake Merritt

Hi Everyone,

I'd like to go to the June 6th event, but need a ride. I don't own a car.

I live in the Lakeview area, at Lakeshore & MacArthur, roughly. If anybody has space in their car for a Friday afternoon or evening departure, please get in touch.

Thanks very much!

Possible ride from Oakland

Marissa:

Are you still looking for a ride from Oakland? IF I make it, I can take you. The thing for me is that I can't leave until early tomorrow morning. I'm thinking of hitting the road no later than 6:30 to be in the Valley by 10ish.

Would you be up for that? I even have to check with Jack to see if that would be ok because I'm not sure what time the volunteer activity is set to begin.
